Dr. Jim Swienconek
Dr. Jim Swienocnek is a board qualified foot and ankle surgeon who joined the practice in July 2021. Dr Swienconek grew up in Northwest Indiana, just outside chicago. He spent most of his time playing baseball across the country starting at the age of 16 and continuing to play while in college. He graduated from Franklin College, in Franklin, Indiana where while playing baseball obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After his time at Franklin college, he attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree.
Following his medical education, Dr Swienconek underwent three years of surgical and clinical training at University Hospitals in the Cleveland area. During his training, he focused on diabetic limb salvage, wound care, microscopic nerve repair, Charcot reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma, sport injuries, and major rearfoot reconstruction. He continues to take courses to further his education, especially in the procedures that include nerve transfers, nerve decompression, and advanced limb salvage techniques.
Dr. Swienconek operates and sees patients at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center, University Hospitals Bedford and Richmond Medical Centers, as well as Cleveland Clinic HIllcrest and Marymount Hospitals. He also sees patients at the UH Richmond Wound Care Center.
In his free time, Dr Swienconek enjoys working out, playing softball and golf. He is a huge sports fan and a big supporter of Cleveland sports teams along with his hometown Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. Dr. Swienconek currently resides in Beachwood, OH.
